Fish & Seafood
Fish and seafood is incredibly good for you and the oceans provide some of the world's most exciting foods and dishes, from crustaceans to molluscs to fish. But because of the world's exploding population, over the last few decades, we have over-harvested and fished irresponsibly. Levels of some species may never recover and many are on the verge. This isn't down, solely, to people eating fish and seafood more, but the methods we use to gather it and an approach that focuses on the 'here and now' rather than the long-term sustainability of what lives in our seas. We have traditionally caught more than we need and frequently damaged populations of sea creatures that we weren't fishing for through our trawling methods. It is essential that you shop, and eat, with this in mind. Check labels and ensure that your indulgence in this wonderful array of produce has been brought to you in a way that you feel comfortable with.
